He was predeceased by: his parent John Johnson; his wife Patricia; his stepson Russell Haas; his siblings, Arlin Johnson, Ione Dugan, Alice Ward and Edith Schoneck-Bork; his nephew Evan Schoneck; and his niece Susan Dugan.
He is survived by: his parent Mae Johnson (Anderson); his sisters, Margaret Saul and Gerry Mueller; his sons, Bill Mueller and Kevin Alt; and his niece Barb Alt (Brad). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Walter's name.
