He was predeceased by: his daughter Marcia Brusewitz; his sisters, Lois Bernhardt and Audrey Schneider; his nephew David Bernhardt; and his niece Barbara Bernhardt.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his daughter Mary Brusewitz; his brother Lowell Brusewitz; and his nephews, Bob Bernhardt, Allen Schneider and Roger Schneider.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Larsen Winchester Lions Club OR Faith United Methodist Church in Vern's name.
