She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband John Backer; her children, Vicky Griffin (Bill), Kristi Evansen (Jerry), Cindy Emshoff (Charles), John Backer Jr. (Pam) and Tracy Backer; her grandchildren, Amy Childers (Steven), Billy Griffin, Jessica Drewitz (Jeremy), Jared Evansen, Jasmine Kundinger (Cody), Eric Emshoff (Rachel), Mark Emshoff, Angie Dorschner (B. J.), Bradley, Nathan, Kevin Backer, Erica, Jordin, Jeremy and Jaime Selwitschka; her great grandchildren, Kinley Childers, Beckett Griffin, Caleb, Isaiah Emshoff, Jaylen, Natalia, Allison DeJesus, Blake, Logan and Brooke Dorschner; her brother Earl Goodwin; her brother-in-law Jerry Wood; and her sister Debbie Wood. She was also cherished by numerous other friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Turners Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, and Cancer Research.
