He was predeceased by: his parents, Teofil Karpinski and Gertrude Karpinski (Lucas); his wife Laurel Jones; and his brother Arthur Karpinski. He is survived by: his children, Robert Karpinski (Karen) of Waupaca, Tom Karpinski (Lisa) of Neenah, Carol Hearn (Randy), Sue Briley (Dave), Linda Ross (Larry) and Andrew Karpinski (Robyn) of Plymouth; and his friend Jerry Alferi. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
