He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Steinke and Norma Steinke (Winter); his sisters, Elvera Schafer (Marlyn) and Myra Oestreich (Edgar); his parents-in-law, Donald and Marie Hoeft; and his brothers-in-law, Don W. Hoeft and Russell Hoeft.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Hoeft; his children, Keith, Diane Haug (Dale), Sharon Herchenbach (Dennis) and Kevin (Muffett); his grandchildren, Andrew Haug (Amy Jones), Lydia Muehrer (Michael), Rebekah Haug, Sarah Haug (Nathan Woodruff), Lauren Woolard (Shaun), Colin Herchenbach (Tracy), Curtis Herchenbach (Jenna), Kyle Steinke (Janey), Lindsey Steinke, Derek Steinke (Tessa) and Samantha Steinke; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Eleanor, Evelyn Muehrer, Reese, Piper Woolard, Aiden, Ava Herchenbach, Laine, Ellis Herchenbach, Nora Kowalski, Marty, Daphne Steinke, Grayson and Emily Weber; and his parents-in-law, Genevieve Everson (Lloyd), Elaine Fuhrman, Bruce Hoeft (Debra), Joyce Josie (Vernon), Mary Hoeft and Joy Hoeft. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
