He is survived by: his children, Craig Checkai, Kristeen Ransavage (Mark), Sandy Moore (Tim), Cindy Mathison (John), Amy Barthels (Jeremy) and Dennis Schwab (Angi Ramirez); his grandchildren, Andrea Checkai Fortune (Bobby), Jesse Ransavage (Brenna), Ryan Ransavage (Siri Imsland), Adam Ransavage (Kelsi), Nicholas Moore (Sarah Montrose), Charlotte Moore, Brett Mathison, Tia Mathison and Braxton Schwab; his siblings, Ron Checkai (Anne), Gary Checkai and Linda Smith (Doug); and his close friend Dianne Geurts.
