He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernie Sorenson and Ethel Sorenson (Paplham); his mother-in-law Virginia Minix; his son Tim; and his brother-in-law Jim Criel.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Sorenson; his children, Tom Sorenson and Becky Murray (Tom); his granddaughters, Harper and Jordan; his sisters, Kathy Criel and Mary DeMoulin (Stan); his parents-in-law, Bob Minix (Carol), David Minix, Patricia Nuthals (Jeff), Jeff Minix (Tammy Ruh), Greg Minix (Jeanne Benck), John Minix (Paula), Jean Berg (Don), Mark Minix and Brian Minix (Marcy); and his nephews, DJ DeMoulin and Scott Berg. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
