It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Firkus (Neenah, Wisconsin), born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, who passed away on January 27, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Firkus and Mary Firkus; and his great-nephew Ty Hunter Nordstrom. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kontney; his daughters, Michelle Barnett (Terry), Dr. Jodi Prine (J. D.) and Alicia Meyer (Jeff); his grandchildren, Noah, Hailey Meyer and Ayden Barnett; his siblings, John Firkus (Barb) and Shirlee Peplinski (Tony); and his siblings-in-law, Jerome, Ronald, Bill, David Kontney (Lori) and Margaret Bembenek (Ray). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“To Mary and the Girls . I am sorry to hear about Jim's passing . I have lots of good memories both from the mill and outside of the mill . We had a few good fishing episodes and he was a good friend . My prayers are with all of you . I am undergoing surgery on Feb. 5th down in Milwaukee and I sincerely regret that I won't be in attendance at the visitation or funeral . I apologize for that .
