He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Dettlaff and Sophie Dettlaff (Metko); his siblings, Robert Dettlaff (Grace), SisterMerryn "Ruth" Dettlaff, Dorothy Phillips (Carlton), Donald Dettlaff, Marlyn Gutsmiedl (Glen), Pat Becker, Gloria Smith, Virginia Borski (Bud) and David Dettlaff; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Dettlaff and Robert Eaton.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Syring; his son Matthew Dettlaff (Fredrika); his granddaughter Robin Tonagel-Andersen (Nick); his siblings, Gerald (Rose Mary), Tom, Glen Dettlaff, Kathy Kitzman, Lois Eaton, Judy Friar and Mary Jane Bartels; and his parents-in-law, Ralph Syring (Barbara), Marlene, Dawn Dettlaff and Dan Becker. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
