He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Harness and Katherine Imogene Harness; his wife Mary; his daughter Julie; and his brothers, James and Arthur Harness.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Harness (Lori) and Katie Salm (Keith); and his close friend Faye Hoffman. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
