He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Pontius and Roscoe Pontius; his wife Carole Pontius; his brother John Pontius; his son Jim Pontius of Oshkosh; and his stepson David Tessmer of Appleton.
He is survived by: his children, Bob Pontius (Nancy) of Appleton and Ann Pontius of Plainfield, Vermont; his stepchildren, Ernie Tessmer (Linda) of Wausau, Arthur Tessmer (Barb) of Clintonville and Debbie Franke of Weston; his sister-in-law Lorraine Pontius of Chippewa Falls; and also Bernard Bluhm (Diane) of Waterford, Wisconsin. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
