He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard James and Evelyn M. McKee (Knopf); his son Joseph Neil McKee; his brother Tom McKee; and his former wife Sandy.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Mae Hirt (VanHoof); his sons, Brian McKee (Krista) of Waukon, IA, Peter McKee (Jacelyn) of Lansing, IA and Matthew McKee (Brittany) of Lansing, IA; and his siblings, Roy McKee (Mary) of Lansing, IA, Bob McKee (Diane) of Genoa, WI, Don McKee of Lansing, IA, Carolyn Russell of Mazomanie, WI and Rita Clark (Bruce) of Lansing, IA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family has asked that memorials be given in memory of James to their charity of choice.
