She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Volkman and Mildred Volkman; her husband LeRoy Hartlaben; her children, Bette Shepard, Thomas and Ronald Hartlaben; her great grandchild Levi Shepard; and her siblings-in-law, Floyd Zarnoth, Donald Hartleben, Naomi and Mickey Hartleben.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Hartlaben, Pete Hartlaben (Sharel), Randy Hartlaben, Barb Schmidt (Randy), Steve Hartlaben (Sheila), Karen Van Lanen (Pat), Chris Stedl (Rick) and Kathy Dollhopf (Paul); her son-in-law Harold Shepard, Jr.; her grandchildren, Amie Olson (Dale), Craig Hartlaben (Megan Rosenlund), Todd Hartlaben (Nicole), Mike Shepard (Heather), Morgan Diburgo (Troy), Jacob Hartlaben (Mandy), Wesley Hartlaben (Sarah Castellion), Courtney Gillespie (Dan), Colleen Kersten (Jesse), Kyle Schmidt (Jessica), Sara Fischer (Jordan), Stacy Bohm (Cory), Jenny Vande Hei (Jeff), Kelly Hill (Alex), Eric Mullen (Alli), Clayton Van Lanen (Hailey McGlin), Matthew Stedl (Amber Haack) and Mariah Stedl (Brandon Marcks); her great grandchildren, Autumn Olson, Sean, Mason, Hailey Shepard, Alexa Hensley (Mykal Noah), Desmond, Paige Diburgo, Beckett, Brooks, Boston Hartlaben, Chase, Grady Rosenlund, Claire, Vincent Hartlaben, Quinn, Carrigan, Amelia Hartlaben, Hayden Hartlaben, Nakiyah Castellion, Luke, Ezra, Bryn Gillespie, Royan, Eirene, Miles, Immanuel Kersten, Isaiah Schmidt, Landon, Natalie Fischer, Payten, Reid, Wyatt Bohm, Alayna, Brayden Vande Hei, Dylan, Harper Hill, Grace, Anna and Eve Mullen; and her siblings-in-law, Ardell Vercauteren and Jerry Hartleben. She is also survived by kids, grandkids, neighbor's kids, friends and relatives.
She not only set the foundation of faith for her children, she also taught religious education to many children of the parish.
