Roy Adkins Obituary
Roy Adkins, A longtime resident of Nashotah, WI, passed away on July 26, 2022. Born to William Basil and Pollyanna (Combs) Adkins on September 13, 1929. Born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. At the age of 17 Roy enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in Panama, Germany, Japan, Korea and the US.
The U.S. Army recognized Roy with Army Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, 6th award, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with German Clasp, National defense Service Medal with bronze service star, Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII, Expert Badge with Rifle Bar, Marksman Badge with Carbine Bar, and the Korea Defense Service Medal.
Upon retiring from the U.S. Army in 1969, as Sergeant First Class E-7 Roy began his civilian career as a Patrolman in the Village of Chenequa retiring in 1988. During his retirement he enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing, spending time with this family.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie (Landry), his Step Son Bobby Bourg, his parents and siblings. He's survived by his children Ivan (Nancy) Adkins, William (Beth) Adkins, and Linda (Gene) Eldridge. As well as, grandchildren Daniel (Catherine) Adkins, David (Brittany) Adkins, Lori Adkins (Arturo Napoles), Justin Adkins, Colleen Carney, Robin Eldridge and Jeanna Heim. Great grandchildren; Ethan, Ryan, Samuel, Henry, Madilynn, Liam, Oliver, Nicholas, Walter, Salem, Sean, Emmalee, Elijah, Meghan, Madelyn, Seth and Delaney. He is further survived by sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday August 3, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 120 Nashotah Rd in Nashotah from 10:00 am Until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park with Military Honors.
