He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Karen; his children, David Henkel (Susan) and Lynn Pettit (Philip); his grandchildren, Paul Pettit (Ashley), Carrie Mather (Wade), Steven Henkel, Nicholas Henkel (Eileen) and Erik Henkel; his great grandchildren, Talan Brylow, Charlie Pettit, Lucy and Henry Mather; his siblings, William Henkel and Marilyn Halbach (Don); his stepsiblings, Donna Marinello (Ron), Ruth Schultz (Ken) and Richard Bassing; and his brother-in-law Robert Lewis (Jane). He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethel Lutheran Church (S77 W18426 Janesville Road, Muskego) are appreciated.
