He is survived by: his wife Janette; his children, Joseph Kern (Therese), Lisa Krueger (John), Louis Kern (Jaime), Jessica Ludwig (Karl) and Lauren Sousek (Greg); his grandchildren, Victoria Hartmann (Paul), Katherine Dierksmeier (Drew), Joey Kern (Angela), Louis John Krueger (Samantha), Louis David Kern, Nathan Kern, Kaycie Ludwig, Karl Ludwig II, Miranda Kern, Madeline Kern and Ethan Kern; his great grandchildren, Lilyjana Cibaric, Lucille Hartmann, Kaiden Kern and Emmy Dierksmeier; his sibling Thomas Kern (Diana); and his siblings-in-law, Jeffrey House (Janet), Delayne Belter (Carl), Marliss Christopherson and Leann House. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
