He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Mooney and Nettie Mooney. He is survived by: his wife Mary (Lauterbach); his sons, John III (Julie C.), Patrick (Tammy) and Michael Mooney (Julie A.); his grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Eliana, John IV (Jack) and Kellan Mooney; and his sisters, Suzann Caldwell (late Jack), Jeannie Gordon (Dan) and Nancy Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers suggested memorials are Shriners Hospitals for Children, Atonement Lutheran Church Youth Programs and Atonement Lutheran Church.
