He was predeceased by: his wife Christine; and his siblings, John, Thomas Hayes, Barbara Eaton and Kathleen Counts.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Legate, James (Sheri), John, Joel and Jesse Hayes (Amy); his stepchildren, Monique Stovall and Michael Zillner; his grandchildren, Andrew, Alex Helman, Austin Legate, Adam, Sam, Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, Emily Loeber, Levi Hayes, Chad Moore, Brett, Chase, Sydney, Wyatt Hayes, Michaela, John Tetzlaff, Samantha and Allison Zillner; his siblings, Carol Eaton (late Patrick), Robert Hayes (Carol), Patrick (Jackie) and Daniel Hayes (late Cindy); and his sister-in-law Kathy Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
