He was predeceased by: his parents, Jan Stanek and Marie Stanek (Biba); his parents-in-law, Harold and Emily Kosharek; his siblings, Mary Kohout (John), Alice McGuire (John), Joseph (Marcella), Carl, Paul, William (Mary), Donald and Francis; his brothers-in-law, Robert McGuire and Marion Kosharek; and his son-in-law Jay Colbeck.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Kosharek; his children, Deborah Schneider (Robert) of Muscoda, James Stanek (Marianne) of Richland Center, Diane Streich (Keith) of Hubertus, Darlene Stanek of Spring Green, Daniel Stanek (Brenda) of Muscoda, Marie Schwingle (James) of Spring Green, Theresa Noble (Christopher) of Blue River and Gerald Stanek (Michelle) of Muscoda; his sisters, Annamarie McGuire of Pardeeville and Dorothy Hackl (Richard) of Muscoda; and his sisters-in-law, Bernice Stanek of Muscoda, Helen Stanek of Spring Green, Mary Lou Stanek of Madison, Margaret Pasold of Blue River and Karen Kosharek of Platteville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
