He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Betthauser and Helen Betthauser (Wurtzel); his wife Rosemarie; his siblings, Marge Cina, Charlotte Moratz, Richard Betthauser and Robert Betthauser; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Cina, Henry Moratz and Donna Betthauser.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Hornby (Steven); his stepdaughters, Karen Jolivette (Deak Lyden), Laure Olson (John) and Michelle Ellingson (David); his grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Brandon Olson (Katherine), Joshua Olson (Alexandra Brandt), Gwendolyn Benish (Tyler), Brittany Ellingson (Richie Graham) and Camden Ellingson (Chyanne Crowell); his great grandchildren, Lauren Olson, Arielle and Aiden Benish; his siblings, Mary Benson (Vernon) and Donald Betthauser; and his sister-in-law Rose Betthauser. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Coulee Region Humane Society or Vernon County Ag Foundation.
