William F. Luebke Jr. Obituary

William "Bill" Luebke passed away on January 24, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1938 to William Frank Luebke Sr. and Alvina M. (Bredendick) at the farmhouse in Muskego, WI. Bill married Joyce (Aurzada) on April 19, 1969. William is survived by his wife Joyce, his son William J. and his wife Araceli and their children Stephanie, Brandon, Isabella and Samantha, and his son Kevin R. and his children Gage and Darby, sister Marie of Illinois and his many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, half siblings Naomi, Ramon, Walter and Arlene and his siblings Carol Wegner and Karen Merrifield.

He was a three-time letterman for the Mukwonago High School football team which won the conference championship in 1954.

Bill operated his business B&L Asphalt Sealing from 1976 to 2009. He also worked at Milwaukee Machine and Engineering and the Waukesha Court House. Bill served his country in the US Army from 1961-1966 (C Company, 9th Battalion). He was a charter member of the Mukwonago Lions Club in 1961 serving the club as its 5th president at age 25, zone chairman and district cabinet secretary in 1984. As a lion, he was Mukwonago's Summer Feste parade chairman along with his co-chair Ken Davis for 30 years.

He also was an active member of the American Legion Post 375. He was Post Commander, as well as county and district commander. In 2004 he was elected by the American Legion members of Wisconsin to hold the high office of State Vice-Commander.

Bill and Joyce enjoyed camping at Coon's Deep Lake Campground in Oxford, WI from 1984 to 2020. His boys enjoyed fishing for trout at night with their dad using Coleman lanterns. Joyce and Bill enjoyed attending many farm auctions throughout Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 NOON. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery with Military Honors.
