William A. Lunow Obituary

William "Bill" Albert Lunow, beloved father, was born into Eternal Life on March 27, 2025, at the age of 86.

Bill is survived by his loving family, daughter Elizabeth (Eric) Olson; stepsons Steve, Mark, and David Lunow; grandchildren Matthew, Joshua (Allison), and Johnathan Olson, and great grandson Colton Olson. Also left to cherish his memory are his first wife Arlene (nee Rowley), sister Carol Cox, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

In addition to his parents Henry and Lorraine (nee Haeger) Lunow, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathleen, brother Michael Lunow, sister Christine Gilbreath, and brother-in-law Brice (Carol) Cox.

Bill grew up in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Boy's Tech High School. He was also a reservist with the Air Force National Guard.

In 1964, Bill married Arlene and moved to New Berlin where they raised their daughter Elizabeth. Years later, after his second marriage, Bill settled in Waukesha WI with his wife Kathleen. He worked as a tool and die designer for Badger Die Casting in Milwaukee for over 40 years.

Bill enjoyed watching Star Trek and reading. Louis L'Amour westerns were perhaps his favorite books. He also loved fishing, the outdoors, and tending to his yard.

Along with talent, Bill had a passion for woodworking. With the hands of a craftsman, he built many things including a boat and a canoe. Together he and his brother even built the cabin they share up north on a river. In the words of Bill's family, he was "absolutely gifted".

This same passion, without a doubt, could be seen in the care of his lawn and garden. Bill couldn't walk by a weed without pulling it. He took pride in his uncommon yellow raspberry bushes and grew some of the best zucchini around. Hedges trimmed with precision, a neatly mowed lawn, and a garden free of weeds was the definition of an average yet seasonally perfect day for Bill.

As his daughter describes her dad as a man of "quiet strength", Bill will also be remembered as a man of faith, who with purpose and intention, lived a fulfilling life.
