Wendy S. Medlock Obituary
Wendy was called home to the Lord on May 5, 2023 at the age of 57, after a brief and unexpected illness.
She is survived by her loving, devoted husband and best friend of 33 years, Jack Medlock, loving mother to Caitlyn (Doug) O'Bryan and beloved Granny to Claire O'Bryan. She is also survived by her parents Boyce and Dolores (née Loppnow) Wilcox, sister Heather (Mark) Backhaus, niece Jenna Backhaus (Tanner Stanossek), sister-in-law to Pat (Ed) Hrabik, Tammy Alioto, brother-in-law Robert Medlock along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Further proceeded in death by her sister Lynette, sister-in-law Debra, parents-in-law Jack and Dolores Medlock, and her aunt Nancy Jenkins.
Wendy and Jack met on a blind date for New Years' Eve 1987, which was arranged by friends. They had been together ever since.
Wendy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but most of all her granddaughter Claire. She loved to share pictures and update family and friends on Claire's milestones and the sparkling personality she was showing. Being a mom and granny made Wendy's world complete.
Wendy also enjoyed "drinks and conversations" with her and her husband's dear friends. She was a woman of great sentiment and tradition. She looked forward to baking Christmas cookies and celebrating the holidays each year. Often times you could catch Wendy watching "Friends", Hallmark movies, or the "Golden Girls". She had a spunky and sassy personality, that often made her hard to forget.
Prior to experiencing health complications, Wendy thoroughly enjoyed getting her "hands dirty" while gardening and planting beautiful flowers that she admired.
Wendy will be deeply missed by all, but especially her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Waukesha Memorial Hospital ICU, Hospice, and the support of family and friends during this difficult time. We can never repay you for your kindness and love.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13th at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 NOON.
