Wayne W. Klopfer Obituary
Mukwonago, WI – Wayne Walter Klopfer, 76, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, from a long battle with cancer. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lived in Mukwonago since 1977. He was a member of Saint James Catholic Church. Wayne is survived by his two brothers, Ronald and James Klopfer; daughters, Karin (Jeff) Pace, Kristen (Nathan) Belan, Laurie (Allan) Bigelow; and his grandchildren Christian, Sarah, Elizabeth, Connor, Anna, Liam, James, John (Emily), William, AJ, Noah, and Maddilynne. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; and his parents, Peter and Myrtle (Crabb) Klopfer.
Wayne was born and raised in the City of Milwaukee. He graduated from the Boys Technical High School in 1965. After high school, Wayne enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve as a fireman. On August 31, 1968, he married Darlene Dallmann. Wayne and Darlene spent the first several years of their marriage in West Allis and Waukesha before moving to the Mukwonago area in 1977. He served on the Big Bend Vernon Volunteer Fire Department for several years as an emergency medical technician. Wayne spent most of his career working as a skilled tradesman in the printing industry until he retired at the age of 65. In all aspects of his life, Wayne was an exceptionally hard worker. He was always willing to lend a hand, especially if there was heavy lifting involved.
Wayne will most assuredly be remembered for his raw sense of humor and his ability to make even the purest of heart chuckle. He was a good man and dear friend to many, and he will be missed.
The entire family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the many friends and family who visited and helped care for Wayne during his illness. It is because of you that he was able to live independently in the comfort of his own home for all that time. A very special thank you to Dennis for the weekly coffee klatch with "the boys"; to Patty for her companion care, and to the ProHealth Home Hospice team for their compassionate care given over the last four years. You are very special people.
A celebration of life for both Wayne and Darlene will be held on September 21, 2024. Further details will be provided via social media.
