Shirley E. Miller Obituary
Shirley E. Miller Shirley passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, at the age of 95. Loving mother of Pat (Tim) Vandehey and Betsy (Milo) Johnson; proud grandmother of Kate (Chris) Andrews, Nick (Amanda) Vandehey, Milena (Wheeler) Morris, and Kelby Johnson; great-grandmother of Oliver Andrews and Jonah Vandehey. She was preceded by her beloved husband Jerry Miller in 2006.
Shirley, a lifelong Mukwonago resident since the age of two, was deeply devoted to her family. She and her husband, Jerry, were the proud co-owners of Miller Pharmacy, a family business that spanned three generations. Together, they built the pharmacy into a trusted local institution, where the employees felt like family. The pharmacy was a significant part of Shirley's life, and her care for both her customers and the business will be long remembered.
Family was always at the heart of everything Shirley did. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a strong role model for her family. Shirley also loved to travel, often bringing her family along on trips to the Southwest and abroad, creating wonderful memories together. In addition to her family and work, Shirley was deeply involved in the community. She was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and contributed her time to the American Legion Auxiliary, Maxwell Street Days, and the Mukwonago Catastrophic Fund. After retiring from the pharmacy, she continued to serve others by delivering Meals on Wheels. Shirley found joy in pleasures like playing bridge, walking her dogs, gardening, baking, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (211 Main St. Mukwonago) from 9:00 AM until the time of the Service at 11:00 AM. Following the funeral for Shirley, friends and family will be invited to a Celebration of Life at a local restaurant. Burial will be held on Friday, October 4th at 10:00 AM at Oak Knoll Cemetery.
