Robert W. Rotza Obituary
Robert "Bob" Wayne Rotza, beloved husband and father found eternal peace on August 29, 2024, at age 88.
In addition to his devoted wife Jean of nearly 60 years, Bob is survived by his loving children Jennifer (Scott) Schroepfer, Renee Rotza, and Kristine Rotza; treasured grandchildren Baron Rotza, Karl (Courtney) Schroepfer, Allison Schroepfer, and Dean (Madalyn) Schroepfer, and great grandchild Hunter Schroepfer. Also left to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Louise (nee Oesterreicher) Rotza, and sister Marian (Bob) Peters.
Bob grew up in Chicagoland and served in the Army from 1953 – 1957 as an MP and Cook while stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge and receiving the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals, Bob began his career in the screen-printing business. These working years were spent in Palatine, IL until he retired in 2001 to East Troy, WI. After retiring, Bob kept busy working at the Potter Lake boat launch, which he thoroughly enjoyed!
A love story began when Bob met Jean. They married on September 26, 1964, and created a beautiful family and meaningful life together. Throughout their years, they enjoyed scuba diving, downhill and water skiing, and snowmobiling. Bob also assisted Jean and his daughters' Girl Scout camping trips.
Bob had a sly sense of humor and took pleasure in reading books based on adventure, mystery, and history. Among his favorite authors were James Patterson and Clive Cussler. Besides finding great joy in fishing, hunting, and automobiles, Bob's interest in drawing and photography showed that he was also quite creative. And let us not forget that he loved making popcorn and pancakes. The family chuckles when adding that in addition to the East Troy Snowmobile Club and Boy Scouts, Bob was an esteemed member of the Chicago Playboy Club! A visitation will be at NOON, followed by a memorial service at 1PM on Saturday, September 28 at St. James Catholic Church in Mukwonago – 830 E. Veterans Way.
Good memories are like charms...Each is special. You collect them, one by one, until one day you look back and discover they make a long, colorful bracelet.
