John A. Stelter Obituary
John Stelter, a devoted father, cherish grandfather, and beloved coach, passed away on March 4, 2024, at the age of 77. His life was a tapestry of love, commitment, and community.
John leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance. As a father, he nurtured his daughters, Lisa (Todd) Meier and Lori (Rodger). Videkovich with unwavering support and encouragement. He was the proud grandfather of Austin Meier, Alyssa Meier, Kaylin Videkovich, Hannah Videkovich, and Gabriella Meier. John was predeceased by his former wife, Barbara Kurtz, and his parents, Stanley and Elizabeth Stelter and many other family and friends.
For over two decades, John dedicated himself to coaching at the Wilson Park Little League, where he shaped the lives of countless young baseball players. His impact extended beyond wins and losses; he instilled values of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. His team the New York Mets benefited greatly from his wisdom and mentorship.
John's commitment extended beyond the baseball diamond. For 33 years, he worked diligently at Briggs & Stratton, contributing to the company's success. His work ethic, integrity, and camaraderie made him a respected colleague and friend.
John found solace and friendship at the Mukwonago YMCA. There, he met new friends who welcomed him into the community. Their shared laughter, stories, and made him feel at home.
John Stelter's legacy will forever echo through the crack of a baseball bat, his love of history, and the warmth of cherished memories. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 1:00 PM until the time of the Service at 3:00 PM. Private burial to be held at St. Adalbert's Cemetery.
