Jerome F. Gallo Obituary
Jerry was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, died peacefully on November 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. He embodied the values of generosity and gentleness by putting faith and family first.
Jerry grew up in the Milwaukee area and attended Pius XI High School. He then served in the National Guard and was called to active duty for a short period of time. In 1959, he married the true love of his life, Nancy Marver. Jerry's 61-year marriage to Nancy was filled with love, laughter, and much adventure. Jerry had a very successful career in the mining equipment industry, and retired as a Chief Engineer. A very humble man, yet proud of his work-related accomplishments.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Joyce Jaskowiak, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Kathy Guagliardo; his sister, Judi Flint; his brother, Jeff Guagliardo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is further survived by his children Scott (Sue) Gallo, Steve (Janet) Gallo, Lisa (Clint) Metz, and Jason (Robin) Gallo. Additionally, Jerry is survived by his grandchildren Emily (Will) Robbins, Marisa Hipp (fiancée Alex Hockett), Rachel Gallo, Tyler Hipp, Colton Metz, Alex Gallo (fiancée Lizzy Weber), Jared Gallo, and Hannah Gallo; and great-grandson Simon Robbins.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his sister, Janet Peters; his parents Luceen and Frank Guagliardo; brothers-in-law Pete Peters, Ted Jaskowiak, and Bill Flint; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Those who knew Jerry will remember him as a man of great kindness, generosity, and deep spirituality. He continuously gave freely of his time and resources, always willing to lend a helping hand. He deeply loved his family and friends and enjoyed making memories with them. Some of these great memories include Sunday afternoons spent on his pontoon boat, traveling, and attending his children's and grandchildren's extra-curricular and school events. Being a true role model and mentor kept his family very close, and they spent quality time together, as often as possible. As we bid farewell to Jerry, his spirit will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be forever etched into our hearts.
