Dale F. LeClair Obituary
Of Vernon, passed away on May 23, 2024 at the age of 90.
Dale was born in Two Rivers, son of the late Victor and Adeline (Ziarnick) LeClair and was also adopted grandson of the late Nelson and Theresa (Colling) LeClair. He attended St Luke Catholic Grade School and Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1951. On August 4, 1956, he married Joan Jaeckel, they celebrated 55 years together. Following college he served in the Korean War: 37th Combat Engineer Battalion, 7th Army Germany A Company. Dale was employed by Waukesha Motor Co., Waukesha Engine a division of Dresser Industries for 40 years until his retirement in 1998, as CFR Service Engineer he excelled in their Research Fuel Division as a Petro Chemical expert, he enjoyed years of traveling to train many across the world on engine functions and fuel processing. He was always ready to share stories of his many adventures. He was a member of the Historical Society and still attended monthly meetings and the annual banquet, where he will be missed by many. Through the years Dale had a love for all types of engines and antique cars, attending various shows and events. After retirement he enjoyed winters in Haines City Florida, spending time at a family cottage in Two Rivers, and traveling across the US. In May 2017 he was selected to join the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight making the trip to D.C. with fellow veterans and celebrating his years of service, a humbling experience by far.
Survivors include his three daughters and son-in-laws: Sandra and David Tischaefer, Durango Co, Linda and Bob Thornton, DePere WI, Mary and Gregg Kontowicz, Mukwonago WI.; grandchildren; Joshua (Melissa) Tischaefer, Nicole (Bryan) Thornton Utke, Paul Thornton, Adam Thornton (Katie), Nicholas (Natasha) Kontowicz, Tanya (Reid) Kontowicz Scheidegger, Krista Kontowicz, Katie (Josh) LeClair Albright, Emilie LeClair (TJ), Gregory Jr (Trayce), Jack (Ann) and Skye (Rudy). Also survived by Sister-in-law Janet LeClair, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friend Karen (Art) Doyle.
He was preceded in death by wife Joan, two sons: Claude-infant, Gregory, brothers and sisters, grandson Christopher Tischaefer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Schimdt & Bartelt Funeral Home (930 Main St. Mukwonago) from 1:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 4:00 PM officiated by Deacon Greg Price. Burial will take place in Two Rivers at Holy Cross Cemetery – detail to follow.
