It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilbert Stanley Knickmeier Jr. of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, born in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 23, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert "Bill" Knickmeier and Berdus Knickmeier (Jungbluth); his wife Shirley Hemel; his daughter Tammie; his children-in-law, Jeff Wood and Maria Knickmeier; his siblings-in-law, Ray and Henrietta Hemel; his brother Wesley; and his sister-in-law Audrey.
He is survived by: his children, Candi, Kimberly Tjugum (James), Randy (Myra Andreassen) and Candace Sarbacker (David); his girlfriend Marjorie King; his partner's daughters, Cynthia, Elizabeth and Tina; his grandchildren, Ryan Fitzsimmons (Jennifer), Shelby Gomez (Anthony), Rachael Gierhart (Allen), Lindsey, Ashlyn and Cole Sarbacker; and his great grandchildren, Jacob (Abby), Lexie, Emily Fitzsimmons, Eli, Axel Gierhart and Baby Girl Gomez. He is also survived by one niece, nephews and cousins.
