She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph Frederick Washburn; and her parents, Louise Russell (Netzle) and David B. Russell. She is survived by: her children, Lisa (Bengt Westerblad), Christopher (Kim) and Scott (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Benjamin (Shelby), Frederik, Adam (Marina Anderson) and Louisa.
Before the pandemic, Nancy was a dedicated member of the PLATO organization of Madison ("where love of learning never gets old").
