She was predeceased by: her parents, Chris Anderson and Lillian Anderson; her former husband Gerald McCarthy; her sons, Dennis McCarthy and Daniel McCarthy; and her stepsister Ellen Lombard.
She is survived by: her husband John Topper; her sons, Dean McCarthy (Carla Shaffer) and David McCarthy (Nancy Hicks); her daughter-in-law Melody Schmitt; her sister Louise Fries; and her stepbrother William McNurlen. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for future designation.
