He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Wagner and Gertrude Wagner (Pickart); his former wife Bernice Braun; his sons, Paul, Larry and Tom Wagner; and his siblings, Ray, Alfred Wagner, Martha Halter, Alma Kraus and Christina Schmitz.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Ruplinger (Schraufnagel); his children, Joe "Smoky" Wagner, Dan "Frisco" Wagner (Betty), Bette Backhaus (Randy), Gary Wagner (Jan), Joan Wagner and Randy "Bronson" Wagner; his daughters-in-law, Kathy Wagner and Mary Carol Wagner; his stepchildren, Donna Boelk (Bob), Gail Bonlender (Loren), Marion Schuenemann (Eric), Monica Wise, Stanley Ruplinger (Lisa) and Stuart Ruplinger (Linda); and his siblings-in-law, Ken Braun (Mary) and Janice Braun. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and a step great-great-grandchild.
Benno faithfully donated blood for many years.
