He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Heldt (Hickey) and Fred Heldt of Merrill, WI.; and his siblings, Fred and Mary Grefe. He is survived by: his wife Rachel; his children, Troy Heldt (Jessica) and Jennifer Powell (Alvin); his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ruby, Ruben, Zara, Cori Jane Powell, Stephanie Olson and Jonathon Heldt; his great grandchildren, Jah'ni Love, Mark Rose Jr., Julius Rose, Logan Bleach, Milo Powell, Isabella and Jasmine Olson; and his sister Lois. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
