Joyce A. Trueblood Obituary
Joyce A. Trueblood (nee Hughes), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, left us just shy of her 88th birthday on March 14, 2024.
Joyce will be missed by many and is survived by her children Allan Trueblood (Robin) and Kelli Effinger (Dave), grandchildren Ashley Quiaoit (Kris), Chelsea Trueblood, Christi Grothman (Bryan), and Kyle Trueblood, and great grandchildren Sage and Lila Quiaoit, and Samuel and Scarlett Grothman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert and her cherished son Mark (Debra).
Joyce and Bob both came from large families in Indiana. Joyce is survived by her siblings Jim (Mary), Carita List (Jack), Don (Violet), Ray (Jan), and Dale (Diane). Preceded in death by Jean Bulington (Robert), Naomi June (infant), Rex (Judy), and Linda Denton (Dave). Bob is survived by sisters Jayne Fox (Leon) and Betty Plaspohl (Carl), and preceded in death by Irene Deno (Cletus), James, Helen Krammes (Jim), Jack (Joanne), and George (Rose and Gloria). She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joyce and Bob moved to Milwaukee in 1968 for Bob's career with Sears, settling in New Berlin, with the kids attending New Berlin West. Bob retired early to enjoy hunting and fishing and Joyce was an avid fisher, catching a 34 Northern over half her size. They lived in Mosinee where they were active in the Lion's/Lioness clubs and also Montello until Bob's death. Joyce moved to Slinger, closer to family. Most recently she lived in the Harwood Community in Wauwatosa.
Joyce was known for her sassy sense of humor, quick wit and sparkle in her eye. She was a loyal friend to many. She loved trading stocks, and antique outings with Kelli and Robin. She was an avid reader and loved tending to her flowers. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her utmost joy.
A visitation will be held at Schmidt and Bartelt funeral home (10121 W. North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53226) on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:30 am followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park (14875 W. Greenfield Ave, New Berlin, WI 53151).
