He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schellin and Betty Schellin (Petersen); his brother Dale Schellin; his nephew Benjamin Schellin; and his brother-in-law William Marble.

He is survived by: his wife Katheryn Dvorak; and his children, Dustin Schellin (Elyse), Magen Zirbel (Brandon), Melanie Kretschmer (Joe), Jordan Schellin and Kendra Schellin. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
