He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Dunse and Irene Dunse (Demaske); his brother Dale Dunse; and his brother-in-law Don Hinze. He is survived by: his wife Shudong Liu (Wendy); his stepson Zhong Li of China; his sister Beverly Hinze of Baraboo; his niece Kathy; and his nephews, Kim and Kevin. He is also survived by two great nieces; six great nephews; two great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; other relatives and friends.
