He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Bentley and Alice Bentley (Bowden); his wife Elaine; his daughter Anne Joachim; his son-in-law Joe Barber; and his sisters, Mary Breitenstein (George) and Helen Sword (Sherman).
He is survived by: his children, Patrick (Marietta) of Princeton, Mary Barber of Waupaca, Michael (Elizabeth) of New Hampshire, Marcus of Madison, Jane Bentley of Chicago, Kathy Bentley (Mark Hoffmeister) of Chicago and Kenneth of Waupaca; his grandchildren, Brian (Hector), Erin (Charles), Ryan (Stephanie), Jess (Amber), Megan (Tekema), Joseph (Molly), Anna (Zach), Brandon, Jesslyn, Nathan (Estefany), Bridget (Brad), Katie (Jesse), Rick (Christie) and Rohn; and his son-in-law Fritz Joachim. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
