She is survived by: her parents, Joseph Schmitz and Mary Schmitz (Knaus); her sister Edna; her children, Mary Schara (late Robert), David Ditter (Susan) and John Ditter (Cindy); and her grandchildren, Amy, Kim, Kate, Beth, Mitchell and Jaclyn. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

Her determination was evident in her battle with Alzheimer 's Disease.
