He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Thoreson and Odelia Thoreson; his aunt Nellie Larson; his brothers, Dean and Gary; and his siblings-in-law, Chloe Thoreson, Richard Ripp, Daniel Ripp, Charles Saber, George Scripko and Myron Kilmer.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Ripp; his children, Jim Thoreson (Becky Mitchell) of Madison, WI, Amy Pierce (Nathan) of Cumberland, WI and Sara Thoreson of San Diego, CA; his granddaughter Ella Thoreson; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Saber of Brookfield, WI, Sister Virginia Ripp of Sinsinawa, WI, Nancy Scripko of Racine, WI, Margaret Ripp of Greenfield, WI, Carol Ripp of Cross Plains, WI and Rose Thoreson of Madison, WI; and his nieces and nephews, Gary, Krista (Scott), Kendra, Connor, Bryan (Katie), Liam, Evey and Keira.
