She was predeceased by: her parents, William Brandt and Gertrude Brandt (Wiederholt); her former spouse Faedelus Herbst; her husband Harold Hermanson; her sons, Bob, Bill, David and Brian; her grandchildren, Daryl Busch, Megan Herbst, Matt Herbst and Phillip Herbst; her great grandchild Michelle Busch; her children-in-law, Beth Herbst and Denny Busch; and her brother Joe Brandt.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Herbst (Tina) of Monroe, Edward Herbst (Dawn) of Hazel Green, LeAnn Olson (Jeff) of Platteville, James Herbst (Diane Thorne) of Sun Prairie and Kristine Wubben (Joe) of East Dubuque, IL; her daughters-in-law, Christine Herbst of Dubuque, IA and Polly Herbst of Cuba City, WI; and her siblings, Gladys, Myrtle, Melda, Charles, Mary and Elmer. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Elva's name.
