He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Phillips and Golda Phillips (Dahms); his wife Lela (Barker); his grandchildren, Brenda and Jeremy; and his brothers, Irvin and Robert.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Metzger (David), Steve, Leona Wake (Dave) and Donette Simonson (Terry). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
