He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Scharschmidt and Clara Scharschmidt (Strasser); his wife Evelyn; his daughter Gena; and his great grandchild Ethan Larsen.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen Ann Larsen (Gary) of Brodhead; his grandchildren, Aaron Larsen (Lesley) of Newport, VT, Brianne Burton (Steven) of Brodhead and Paige Weiland (Jon) of Zumbrota, MN; and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Katie, Julian Larsen, Clara, Iliana, Emmett Weiland and Wesley Burton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
