He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Menting and Rose Menting (Baader); his brother-in-law Donald Orne; and also, Harvey, Olga Ristow and Selma Ristow.

He is survived by: his wife Veronica; his daughters, Julie Schwennsen (Bill), Sue Burr (Gary Aron), Holly Wieland (Gary) and Sheila Severson (Colin); his grandchildren, Kristopher Schwennsen (Hiedi), Amanda Schwennsen, Jessica Holt (Jonathan), Becky Carpenter (Chris), Stacey Burr (Mikey Fornicoia), Heidi Barthels (Ryan), Sam Wieland (Shelby Conway), Justine Schultz (Greg) and Danica Larsen; and his siblings, Darrell Menting (Christine), Roger Menting (MaryLou) and Joanne Orne. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
