It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Lawrence Schmidtknecht of Mondovi, Wisconsin, who passed away on October 1, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elden Schmidtknecht and Leona Schmidtknecht (Wojchik); his sons, Greg Schmidtknecht (Toni) of Mondovi and Gregory Schmidtknecht; his siblings, Clarice Pronschinske, Marlene Matchey and James Schmidtknecht; his siblings-in-law, Randy Matchey, Dave Prissel, Julian King, Tony Pronschinske, Ruth Prissel, Connie King and Shirley Pronschinske; his nephew Jared Pickering; and his parents-in-law, Joseph Sr. and Florence Fedie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Fedie; his children, Bruce Schmidtknecht (Vicky) of Mondovi, Gary Schmidtknecht (Laurie) of Mondovi, Brian Schmidtknecht (Christy) of Mondovi, Brad Schmidtknecht (Noelle) of Mondovi, Carrie Anderson (Jeff) of Ella, Wisconsin and Dan Olson (Tracy) of Mondovi; his grandchildren, Eric (Chelsa), Evan (Bailey), Shane (Morgan), Sam, Tara Pronschinske (Jared), Tessa, Brittany, Jason (Ashley), Joe (Ann), Aaron, Brody, Logan (Megan), John, Zoe, Abbey (Tyler), Alex and Max; his great grandchildren, Koye, Jasper, Briar, Rowan, Wyatt and Clarke; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Pronschinske (Rudy) of Waumandee, Judy Weiss (Tom) of Mondovi, JoAnne Doverspike (Mitch) of Stoughton, Sharon Pickering (Rick) of Mondovi and Joe Fedie (Jane) of Mondovi. He is also survived by six children, but an even prouder grandfather.
