He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Schneider and LaVerne Schneider; his father-in-law William Rostagno; his sister-in-law Patricia Rutlin; and his niece Patricia Emslie.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Rostagno); his grandchildren, Luke, Gianna and Porter; his daughters, Rostonia Thilmany (Christian) and Katelynn Goss (Kyle); his sister Sue Sweitzer (Tom); his mother-in-law Lillian Rostagno; his siblings-in-law, Annette Gahlman (Paul), Jill Dillman (Ron), Beth Janke (Mike), Jeff Rostagno, Joe Rostagno (Wendy), Mark Rostagno (Pam) and Rick Rutlin; and his nieces and nephews, Lucy (Ryan), Sarah (Jon), Emily (Tyler), Paige (Geremy), Lily (Alex), Emmy, Scott, Bryce, Garret (Lauren), Marshall, Alex and Kolton (Kylie). He is also survived by many great- nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

“I was just made aware of Mike's passing. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. I wish to express my sincere condolences to Mike's family at this time. I really liked Mike. We met in 1978 when he was hired by the City of Waukesha Park Department. We worked together in the Forestry Department as arborists up until his tragic work-related accident. Unfortunately Mike was unable to return to work and we lost track of each other as time went on. Our paths crossed again briefly in 2009.”
