He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Carlson and Bernice Carlson; his brother Ron Carlson; and his brother-in-law Ernie Huland. He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn Ryden; his wife Kathy Kief; his children, Kathryn Hoffman (Troy) of Minnetonka, MN and Brian Carlson (Brenda) of Barnesville, MN; his stepchildren, Patrice Bryske (Paul) of Baltimore, MD, Brian Kief (Beth) of Minocqua, WI and Tim Kief (Ann) of Park Falls, WI; his grandchildren, Breanna, Brittany, Alex, Adam, Jared, Anna, Logan, Gavin, Grayson, Grant and Frank; his siblings, Bonnye Huland (Ernie) of Woodbury, MN, Carmen Loida (Ray) of Stillwater, MN and Susan Carlson of Brainerd, MN; his sister-in-law JoAnne Carlson (Ron) of Brainerd, MN; and also, Kathryn, Brian and Carolyn Ludwig of Deer River, MN.. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
