She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent J. McDermott and Jewelly McDermott (McCluskey); her sisters, Mary, Rita McDermott and Margaret Schmitz; her niece Carol Schmitz; her nephew Gary Schmitz; and her brothers-in-law, Jack Basting and Don Schmitz.
She is survived by: her children, John Cooney (Lorrie Hartman) and Kathleen Schaaf (Mark); her grandchildren, Michael Schaaf (Crystal), Brandon Schaaf (Misty), Brian Schaaf and Bridget Cooney; her great grandchildren, Mariah, Braelyn, Alea, Reagan, Everly, Natalie, Shane and Oaklee; her sister Doris Basting; and her goddaughter Teresa MacGilvra. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
