Walter A. Gerke Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter A. Gerke (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 16, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Walter had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Walter may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gerke and Regina Gerke. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Andrew Gerke (Karen), Randolph Gerke (Kathy), Sandra Ward (Daniel), Russell Gerke (Andrea) and Suzanne Konitzer; and his sister Rose Balsewicz. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. Sebastian Church (5400 W Washington Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53208). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
