He is survived by: his parents, Herbert Gard and Edna Gard (Pelczynski); his children, Kathy Delwiche (Tom), John Gard (Cate), Joe Gard (Karen), Fred Gard (Julie), Marie Rezin (Thad), Ed Gard (Michelle), Paul Gard (Debbie) and Deacon Peter Gard (Sarah); his siblings, Thomas Gard (Linda), Jerome Gard (Kim), Loretta Repp (Mike), Claudia Mooney (Robert), Gregory Gard, Theodore Gard (Glenda) and Daniel Gard (Nora); and his wife Dixie Gard.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask memorials be offered to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI.
